NTT Singapore Launches Global Virtualization Services for Enterprise Market
NTT Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, today launched the Global Virtualization Services suite of virtual hosting services for the Singapore market.
Aimed at mid-sized to large enterprises, Global Virtualization Services allow end-users to virtualize their physical servers located in NTT Communications’ data centers globally, and manage the consolidated clusters remotely.
Global Virtualization Services (known as Biz Hosting Global in Japan) offer a dedicated virtualization infrastructure and a virtualized network with improved server availability and enhanced network security. To ensure business continuity, customers can also use this service to duplicate (or back up) the virtualized clusters for full system redundancy and stability.
With Global Virtualization Services, end-users now will be able to manage their virtualized server clusters, located in any region including Singapore, via a dedicated customer portal. Remote server management tasks that the portal supports include system bootup or shutdown, server load monitoring as well as network resource allocation.
The addition of the virtualized services, hosted at NTT Singapore’s premium data center, eliminates the need for customers to set up such facilities on their own – and therefore reduce their upfront capital expenditures in the region. It also allows customers to vary their usage levels of NTT Singapore’s data center resources according to their evolving business needs, for greater operational scalability.
Other end-user benefits include:
· cost savings
· faster server deployments
· better resource optimization
· smaller carbon footprint due to server consolidation
“NTT Singapore has been receiving more and more requests by mid-sized and large enterprises across all verticals to consolidate their servers in Singapore. Clearly, there is a growing demand for virtualization services in Singapore and the region. To meet this market need, we are pleased to offer Global Virtualization Services as a secure, cost-efficient and high-performance solution for customers to consolidate and manage their server clusters out of our Singapore data center,” said Mr Takeshi Kazami, President and Chief Executive Officer for NTT Singapore.
Global Virtualization Services will be available in Singapore beginning today. The launch in Singapore follows earlier service rollouts in Hong Kong, the US, Europe and Japan. Visit www.sg.ntt.com or call 6438-3101 for more information.
